MLB's future stars find their peers, teammates and heroes on 'Old Baseball Cards'
Every once in a while, we throw you a curve ball.
In this week’s installment of “Old Baseball Cards” — Yahoo Sports’ baseball-driven nostalgia show — we flipped the script and are doing what could be called New Baseball Cards.
We took some packs of cards highlighting MLB’s future stars and handed them up to rookies and top prospects to get their takes on their peers and some of their big-league heroes.
This episode features a number of players ripping packs of 2019 Bowman Platinum, which features prospect cards and some established big leaguers. Our guests:
• Dustin May, the Los Angeles Dodgers rookie pitcher, who impressed at the Futures Game, where we filmed part of this episode).
• Anthony Kay, the Toronto Blue Jays rookie is who making his debut Saturday (he was with the Mets when we filmed this, before going to Toronto in the Marcus Stroman trade)
• MacKenzie Gore, the San Diego Padres’ top pitching prospect (who was just named MLB Pipeline’s pitcher of the year)
• Shaun Anderson, the San Francisco Giants’ rookie pitcher
