Chris Russo shows off an uncanny skill on 'Old Baseball Cards'
You hear Chris Russo talk about baseball every day on MLB Network’s “High Heat” and his Mad Dog Sports Radio on Sirius XM, but you don’t often get to him talk about baseball in exactly this way.

On this week’s episode of “Old Baseball Cards,” we handed Russo a pack of 1984 Fleer — he wanted some of the oldest cards we had — and he proceeded to remisicence about ’80s baseball. Specifically, he showed off an impressive skill: The guy can name just about any ballpark in the photo of a baseball card. Especially the old spring-training parks of the ’80s.
Along the way, he geeks out over Fred Lynn (and won’t trade him) and I open some 1987 Topps. Eventually, we found a way to make a deal that pleases him and perfectly ties episode back to one from the past — when we opened cards with New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
If you’re new to this series, we open old baseball cards from the ’80s and ’90s with baseball players, coaches, commentators and famous fans. It all started with cards that were sitting in my garage that my grandma bought back in the day. Now we use the old cards to find baseball stories and nostalgia.
