And thus, welcome to a 2018 retrospective from your friends at “Old Baseball Cards,” the Yahoo Sports show where we mine for nostalgia and great stories using old trading cards from the ’80s and ’90s. We’ve combed through dozens of episodes from this year and picked out some of the best cards our guests have pulled.

This is the point where we remind you that none of the cards are worth all that much. Not even that Jose Canseco 1986 Rated Rookie that Tim Raines pulled. It’s the era of overproduced junk wax, so the real value comes from the stories and memories our guests share. A good pull for us is a card that reminds a guest of a great story or memory — or you know, Mickey Mantle.
