Spring roundup: Martinez helps Red Sox defeat Rays
J.D. Martinez drove in three runs and Blake Swihart homered to help the Boston Red Sox record an 8-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday at Port Charlotte, Fla.
Martinez had an RBI single in the first inning and delivered a two-run double in Boston's five-run fourth inning. Swihart homered for the first run in the fourth.
C.J. Cron and Brandon Snyder hit homers for the Rays.

Josh Reddick went 3-for-3 with a homer and four RBIs and right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. gave up two hits in 5 1/3 scoreless innings as Houston knocked off Washington at West Palm Beach, Fla. Matt Reynolds and Andrew Stevenson homered for the Nationals.
Cardinals 13, Marlins 6
Paul DeJong, Matt Carpenter and Marcell Ozuna homered as St. Louis cruised past Miami at Jupiter, Fla. Marlins right-hander Zac Gallen gave up eight runs in just 1 2/3 innings.
Phillies 7, Blue Jays 7
Rhys Hoskins homered twice and Aaron Altherr and Scott Kingery also went deep as Philadelphia and Toronto played to a nine-inning tie at Dunedin, Fla. The Blue Jays rallied from a five-run deficit to tie the score on Roemon Fields' RBI triple with one out in the bottom of the ninth.
Brewers (ss) 4, A's 3
Eric Thames hit a two-run homer to help Milwaukee defeat Oakland at Phoenix. A's starter Daniel Mengden threw 6 1/3 innings of two-run ball.
Padres 4, White Sox 3
Eric Hosmer and Hudson Potts went deep for San Diego in a victory over Chicago at Glendale, Ariz. Matt Skole and Yermin Mercedes homered for the White Sox.
Cubs 5, Rangers 1
Yu Darvish gave up one run in six innings against his former team, guiding Chicago to a victory over Texas at Surprise, Ariz. Kris Bryant hit a three-run homer, Kyle Schwarber had a solo shot for the Cubs, while Juan Centeno homered for the Rangers.
