Player Notes
Kris Bryant had a monster game in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Marlins, homering twice and driving in six runs.

Advice: Bryant eradicated Marlins starter Jarred Cosart from this earth, hitting a two-run homer in the first inning and following it up with a grand slam in the second to drive Cosart from the mound. This was Bryant's second multi-homer game of the season and he's now socked 12 dingers and driven in 49 runs over 70 games since being called up in late April. The rookie sports a .278/.381/.486 triple-slash and figures to be a front-runner for the NL Rookie of the Year award come the end of the season.

Kris Bryant is out of the Cubs' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon against the Mets.

Advice: Bryant struck out in three of his five trips to the plate on Wednesday and will now take a day of mental and physical rest. Jonathan Herrera is starting at third base and batting seventh versus Mets righty Jacob deGrom.

Kris Bryant went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run in Tuesday's win over the Mets.

Advice: The run was the only one either team would score in the game. Even after missing the season's first two weeks, Bryant's 40 walks are fifth-most in the National League. The 23-year-old is hitting .275/.381/.466 in his rookie year.

Kris Bryant (illness) went 1-for-4 with a single and a sacrifice fly in his return to action Friday against the Cardinals.

Advice: Bryant made an early exit from Thursday's game due to flu-like symptoms, but it shouldn't be an issue moving forward. The rookie sensation is batting .277 with 10 home runs and an .850 OPS through his first 64 games in the majors.

Kris Bryant (illness) is back in the Cubs' lineup Friday.

Advice: Bryan had to make an early exit Thursday while battling the flu, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go Friday. The rookie slugger sports a .278/.383/.474 batting line with 10 homers and 42 RBI across 63 games this season.

Kris Bryant left Thursday's series finale against the Dodgers with flu-like symptoms.

Advice: Bryant struck out in his first at-bat and was lifted before the top of the third inning, with Jonathan Herrera taking over at third base, Chris Coghlan moving to second base, Chris Denorfia shifting to left field, and Matt Szczur taking over in center. Bryant can be considered day-to-day. This doesn't sound like a big deal.
