Game recap: No. 3 Purdue basketball beats Michigan on the road 84-76

The Purdue men's basketball team heads to Ann Arbor to take on Michigan today.

The Boilermakers (24-3 overall, 13-3 Big Ten) are coming off a win over Rutgers after losing to Ohio State in the game before. Michigan (8-19 overall, 3-13 Big Ten) is on a four-game losing streak.

Boilermaker win: Zach Edey dominates as Purdue basketball beats Michigan

Final: Purdue 84, Michigan 76

Michigan cut Purdue's lead to 81-74 but didn't get much closer. That run to close the second half was the difference maker in this.

Zach Edey had 35 points and 15 rebounds. Braden Smith had a double-double himself with 11 points and 11 assists. Lance Jones scored 15 points. Michigan was led by Dug McDaniel, who scored 19 points.

Purdue shot 47% from the floor while Michigan was at 48%.

Michigan isn't going away just yet. The Wolverines hold a 34-31 advantage over the Boilermakers in the second half. At the 4:08 mark, Dug McDaniel scored on a layup to make it a single-digit lead for Purdue.

Lance Jones' layup at 8:22 gave Purdue a 23-22 lead, which was the first time the Boilermakers have led the Wolverines. On the ensuing possession, Tray Jackson banked in a 3-pointer. Braden Smith then made back-to-back free throws to tie things up.
