Puck Previews: Rangers at Leafs; Greiss heads to Sweden

Here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.

The Rangers get Duff. That mean's Giada's still a free agent, rest of the NHL.

Preview: New York Rangers at Toronto Maple Leafs, 7 p.m. ET. Marty Biron in goal for the Rangers. Colby Armstrong(notes) is an Oafer for the Leafs, and has another concern tonight: Retribution for knocking out Marian Gaborik(notes). Watch the Game Live via Hockey Night on Y!

Preview: San Jose Sharks at Colorado Avalanche, 9 p.m. ET. The first meeting between the teams since last postseason. Antero Niittymaki(notes) gets the nod, and Fear The Fin thinks it's the right call: "San Jose is going to have to ride the hot hand all year long, and right now, it's pretty clear that Niemi isn't that guy (not that he's gotten any help from his blueline, I should stress). The hope here is that Nitty can string together some of his infamous hot streaks and put the team on his shoulders."

Preview: Pittsburgh Penguins at Nashville Predators, 8 p.m. ET. Sidney Crosby(notes) and Shea Weber(notes) were Olympic roomies. "I think he did snore a little bit, but I'm usually OK with snorers," Crosby said. "I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, so I don't really have a problem."

Preview: Washington Capitals at Boston Bruins, 7 p.m. ET. Tuukka Rask(notes) Tim Thomas(notes) gets the nod for the B's in their home opener against Semyon Varlamov(notes). Meanwhile, Bruce Boudreau is wondering why his top line of Alex Ovechkin(notes), Nicklas Backstrom(notes) and Mike Knuble(notes) isn't quite firing all of their guns at once yet.

Puck Buddy Comment of the Day: From Potvinsux on Puck Headlines --

Mike Zigomanis(notes) said: "We were on the same team ... But we were never teammates. I wouldn't invite him over for tea and biscuits, if that's what you're asking.

Are only Clyde Frog and Polly Prissy Pants invited to Mike Zigomanis' tea party?

Bold Prediction: Devils fall to 1-5-1 with a loss in Montreal.
