C Sidney Crosby has gone four straight games without a point for the first time in his NHL career. Crosby has averaged over 22 minutes per game in five straight missed by C Evgeni Malkin (right shoulder strain), and head coach Dan Bylsma admitted that the Penguins are an easier team to defend without both of their superstar centers. |

Crosby was held pointless for a fourth straight game for the first time in his career Saturday night as the Penguins lost 5-0 at San Jose. Advice: The Penguins have lost three of four and are struggling on the power play. Crosby - and his teammates - need Evgeni Malkin, Sergei Gonchar, Tyler Kennedy and Kris Letang to get healthy as soon as possible. |

Crosby went pointless for the third straight game on Thursday and hasn't helped much with a power play that's gone 3-for-32 since Sergei Gonchar (wrist) got hurt. Recommendation: Despite logging the third highest amount of ice time on the man advantage (84:00) in the NHL, Crosby has just three power-play points -- all goals -- through 16 games. He's averaged 33 power-play assists in his four seasons, but so far Crosby hasn't been able to cover for the injury losses of Gonchar or more recently, Evgeni Malkin. To his credit, Crosby has recorded two of his five career short-handed points this year. Overall, the Penguins superstar boasts a career-best 15.3 shooting percentage on nine goals and 16 points, but it seems unlikely that his power-play production will return to form until the team gets healthy. |
