Crosby lifted the Stanley Cup in June, and now he is carrying the Olympic torch at home. Hundreds of people lined a downtown street on Wednesday to watch the captain of the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins with the flame. Advice: Crosby, whose hometown of Cole Harbour lies across the harbor from Halifax, was one of 12,000 torchbearers tasked with carrying the flame across Canada as part of a massive relay. |

C Sidney Crosby and C Evgeni Malkin played an entire game on the same even-strength line for the first time this season on Saturday. With Malkin back from a seven-game absence because of injury, head coach Dan Bylsma wanted to spark his club, which had scored only 11 goals in Malkin's absence. The Penguins scored six goals against Boston on Saturday, with Crosby and Malkin combining for six points. "We understand the message when we're together: We need to create chances," Crosby said. |

Crosby picked up his first point, an assist, in Thursday's 4-1 loss to New Jersey. Recommendation: It's not much, but at least it's a start. Crosby and the Pens went 0-for-3 on the power play, making them 3-for-40 since Sergei Gonchar got hurt. Crosby did look energized throughout the game and even hit two posts during one shift on the man advantage. With Evgeni Malkin (shoulder) expected to be activated for Saturday's game, Crosby will get a little more room on the ice to skate. |
