If you're looking for a thoughtful, nuanced fantasy review of the AFC, um...maybe check out RotoWire or something. But if you'd like to hear Drew Magary and I discuss running back committees, Ben Roethlisberger and Darnay Scott, then check out this week's Deadcast. My dog chimed in at the end, because her enthusiasm for the 2009 Raiders could no longer be contained. Huge Robert Gallery fan. [Deadspin]

If, however, you're not ready to leave MLB trade talk behind, then please drop by 'Duk's deadline live blog. Chat begins at noon ET. We'll probably kick it off with some Jarrod Washburn(notes) talk. [Big League Stew]

Adrian Gonzalez(notes) is 27 years old and enjoying his most productive major league season (.926 OPS, 44 HR pace). He's one of the best bargains in the game, under contract for $3 million this year and $4.75 million next season, with a $5.5 million club option in 2011. He's also a San Diego native. In short, Gonzalez would seem to be the perfect Padre...and the team is apparently in active discussions to deal him to the Red Sox. [Boston Globe]

Marc Hulet offers a few thoughts on Tim Alderson, who the Giants found expendable. Money quote: "The best pitching prospect of the day doesn't get traded for Cliff Lee(notes), but for Freddy Sanchez(notes). Awesome. Nice job, Cleveland." [Fangraphs]

John Grabow(notes), apparently, is a Type A free agent. That's not the letter I would have guessed. [MLB Trade Rumors]

The Angels are reportedly in on Heath Bell(notes). Interesting timing for LAA, since closer Brian Fuentes(notes) has allowed six runs without retiring a batter over his last two appearances. As we discussed yesterday, Mike Adams(notes) is the recommended speculative add for saves in San Diego. [San Diego Union-Tribune]

If you have any real-life interest in game shows, or perhaps a fantasy interest in Brett Anderson(notes), you'll enjoy this link. [Advanced NFL Stats]

The Jays are still trying to deal, but they're like the dude in your fantasy league who always asks for one more piece. The Rangers reportedly "may have come the closest" to swinging a deal for Roy Halladay(notes), while the Rockies have discussed Scott Downs(notes). For those speculating on Jays saves, Jason Frasor(notes) is the pickup. [Heyman]

Disco Hayes is looking for an intro song. Please send help. [mlblogs.com]
