Halladay (groin) returned from the DL on Monday and went six innings against Tampa Bay, giving up two runs and five hits. Halladay walked two and struck out seven. Recommendation: Halladay, who threw 88 pitches with 57 going for strikes, allowed at least one base runner in each of the first four innings but was able to settle down and retired 11 of the final 12 batters he faced. Not a bad first outing considering Halladay had seven strikeouts and his only damage came on a two-run homer. |
