Player Notes
Brett Anderson underwent successful surgery Thursday on his fractured left index finger.

Advice: Anderson had four pins inserted into the broken finger to stabilize it and allow for proper healing. The left-hander has already been placed on the disabled list and is expected to be out for the next 4-6 weeks.

Rockies placed LHP Brett Anderson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 13, with a fractured left index finger.

Advice: Anderson suffered the injury on Saturday during an at-bat. He will have surgery this week to insert some pins in the finger and is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks. Franklin Morales will go back into the rotation in Anderson's place.

Brett Anderson will be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with a broken left index finger.

Advice: It's a tough break for the oft-injured 26-year-old who posted a 3.60 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 5/2 K/BB ratio over 15 innings in his first three starts. Franklin Morales will replace him in the Rockies rotation.

Brett Anderson (finger) could be placed on the disabled list.

Advice: Anderson was initially diagnosed with a bruised left index finger after having to leave Saturday's game with the injury, but he's feeling worse Sunday than expected. The southpaw will undergo an X-ray Sunday and possibly an MRI Monday before the Rockies decide whether they need to make a roster move.

Sun, Apr 13 Rotoworld
Brett Anderson has been diagnosed with a contusion on his left index finger.

Advice: Anderson suffered the injury Saturday during an at-bat and had to leave his start against the Giants after three scoreless innings. He is a left-hander, so it's possible that the contusion will force him to miss a turn in the Colorado starting rotation.

Sun, Apr 13 Rotoworld
Brett Anderson left his start Saturday against the Giants after injuring his hand during an at-bat.

Advice: Anderson had allowed just one hit -- and no runs -- over three solid innings before injuring himself on an awkward swing that resulted in a groundout. He was replaced by Tommy Kahnle. The Rockies should provide a status update shortly on the oft-injured left-hander.
