2B Freddy Sanchez agreed to a new two-year, $12 million deal with the Giants, who had an $8.1 million option on him for the 2010 season. Sanchez said he is eager to prove to the organization and its fans that he is the All-Star player the Giants thought they were getting when they traded for him last July, not the player who missed most of the last two months because of injuries. |

Sanchez (knee) agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract to remain with the Giants, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Recommendation: The contract eliminated an $8.1 million option for next season. The Giants also approved the deal after checking on the progress of his left knee, which required surgery to repair a torn meniscus, so it sounds like he's making progress. |
