South View's sophomore pitcher is your 910Preps Athlete of the Week; April 15-19

Fayetteville saw a host of great performances for the week of April 15-19 among several different sports.

Over the week, Cape Fear hosted its inaugural alumni game in honor of fallen student-athlete Cole Humphrey. Freedom Christian's Victoria Bryant surpassed a 300 strikeout milestone for her career, and Cape Fear soccer knocked off the top United 8 team in Purnell Swett last Tuesday, leaving the Rams scoreless.

4,875 votes were cast on this week's ballot.

Out of those votes, South View's sophomore Jordynn Parnell is your 910Preps Athlete of the Week winner after running away with 4,576 (87.5%) votes to earn her second honor of the spring sports season. Parnell continued her impressive sophomore campaign in a 2-1 week. The Tigers strikeout artist tossed 30 strikeouts in two games in the circle and hit a home run.

Christian Alleman, Freedom Christian - Alleman was on fire for the Patriots in their win over O'Neal. The junior outfielder knocked in six RBIs and two home runs, including a grand slam.

Rylan Miller, Freedom Christian - The Marshall commit continues to shine and lead the Patriots to an undefeated season. Miller threw nine strikeouts versus Riverside Christian and hit a three-run homer versus Village Christian.

Eli Carney, Freedom Christian, Freedom Christian - Carney continued his stellar play for the Patriots last week. Carney recorded 10 strikeouts, three stolen bases, and hit the sole RBI for either team against Village Christian Academy. He also stole four bases versus O'Neal.

Charlotte Jensen, Fayetteville Academy - Jensen was unstoppable for Eagles soccer last week, leading them to a 2-0 week. Jensen kicked in four goals and picked up 13 points versus Village Christian and Harrells Christian.
