Five-star cornerback Adoree’ Jackson picks USC

The USC hat that Adoree' Jackson picked out of a box might have been the sixth thing he pulled from it, but it was the most important item.

Jackson, a five-star cornerback and the No. 6 recruit in the country according to Rivals, picked USC over Florida, LSU and UCLA on Wednesday. A resident of Gardena, Calif., he decided to stay close to home instead of going to SEC country.

Before grabbing the USC hat, Jackson's misdirection included a Gatorade bottle, what appeared to be items in two jewelry boxes, a hat from his high school and an orange and blue Nike cleat. The Gatorade bottle obviously represented Florida, but it was unclear what the other items meant.

Florida was an intriguing option for Jackson because of its track program. The corner ran the 100 meters in 10.68 seconds in 2013. His speed could be an asset for USC's offense if the Trojans want to utilize him on that side of the ball, and he mentioned Reggie Bush when talking about his decision to commit to USC.

He's also the No. 1 recruit in the state of California and is new USC coach Steve Sarkisian's first five-star commit. Jackson's addition, USC's class was ranked No. 23 in the country. Earlier Wednesday, the Trojans got a commitment from four-star OL Damien Mama.

Less than two hours after Jackson's commitment, JuJu Smith committed to USC as well. He's a five-star athlete according to Rivals, and the No. 24 prospect in the country.
