UFC 96 presser: Rampage ready to lend a hand to Jardine
Day Two in Columbus featured a much looser Quinton Jackson. Cage Writer spoke to him on Wednesday and he was pretty much all business. At the final UFC 96 press conference, after UFC president Dana White talked about Keith Jardine eventually having to fight his teammate Rashad Evans, Jackson stepped up and said he'd save "The Dean of Mean" from that horrible fate. Of course by save, he meant kicking Jardine's ass:
"I feel bad for Jardine right here," Jackson said as he pat Jardine on the shoulder. "Dana said he's going to make him fight his friend, I have friends I train with and couldn't see myself fighting them. I like Jardine and I like
RashardRashad, so I'm going to try and help you out, I got your back."
Jackson then reached over and gave Jardine a fist bump. Jardine leaned away from Jackson as he then tried to pat him on the shoulder:
"Thanks for looking out for me," said Jardine

Does anyone actually think teammates will fight? I'm not buying it. It looks like a fight like Evans versus Jardine would have to be the last possible option. Jackson addressed Forrest Griffin as well. White said that was the next fight, not Evans, that Rampage wants if he wins on Saturday night.
