Dirty TackleFIFA 15 has goal-line technology and eerily lifelike Premier League player headscans
We've already seen the new "emotional intelligence" of players in FIFA 15, as well as the unique chants of fans from club to club, but that's only the beginning of what's been added to the latest edition of EA Sports' football franchise. Taking their partnership with the Premier League to a new level, the game will include all the graphics and sounds of Premier League TV broadcasts, right down to the things that aren't even necessary in a video game.
Since the Premier League introduced goal-line technology last season, FIFA 15 has it now too. Replay animations like those used on the league's TV broadcasts will be used after close calls to provide an added degree of realism and maybe prevent you from breaking your controller and accusing the game of cheating you again.
Next up: over 200 new lifelike Premier League player heads have been added to ensure that when you yell obscenities at Kun Aguero for scoring against you again, it actually looks like you're yelling at the real Kun Aguero.
And finally, for the first time ever, all 20 Premier League stadiums have been included in the game. Only eight appeared in FIFA 14, leaving the other 12 clubs to endure the indignity of playing at generic grounds.
Given the extreme global popularity of the FIFA games and their huge influence on the younger generation of fans, it's amazing that it's taken this long for a league to extend their partnership with EA Sports to this level. What isn't a surprise is that the Premier League is the first to do it. For those who wonder why the Premier League remains the most popular in the world, it's partly because of initiatives like this. Remaining a step ahead of everyone else — whether it be with TV contracts or video game deals — can make a big difference.
