White Pigeon boys secure conference crown

WHITE PIGEON — The White Pigeon boys secured a Southwest 10 Conference title in track and field on Wednesday evening. The Chiefs played host to the double dual matchup, which saw them beat Hartford 65-62 and Centreville 91-45.

Hartford also edged Centreville, 80-56.

The Chiefs picked up first place finishes in seven events. Jordan Pisco won three of those events for White Pigeon. He raced to first in both hurdle events, winning the 110 (16.06 seconds) and the 300 (42.98). Pisco also claimed first overall in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6-2 feet. Pisco claimed second in the long jump at 19-6 feet.

Seth Miller placed the shot put at 46-5 feet to claim first place. Josh Davidson ran to first in the 400 race as well, posting a time of 51.71 seconds.

The Chiefs won a pair of relay events as well.

The mile relay saw Davidson, Drew Kobryn, Mekhi Singleton and Jack Williams record a time of 3:39.85, which won. In the 800 relay, the Chief team of Davidson, Kobryn, Caleb Lane and Singleton posted a time of 1:36.02.

Singleton ran to second in the sprints, posting a time of 12.01 in the 100 and 24.25 in the 200. Kobryn was second in the 400 (52.02). Jesse Fielis ran to third place in both distances, recording a time of 5:19.58 in the mile and 11:11.68 in the two-mile.

Fielis teamed up with David Lane, Ty Strawse and Williams to run a time of 9:15.53 in the two-mile relay. This was good for second place.

Wes Roberts was second in the throws, posting a distance of 42-9 feet in the shot put and 123-4 feet in the discus.

Centreville's Matthew Bates won the discus event, tossing a distance of 128-6 feet. Max Yoder won the pole vault at 11-0 feet and Hunter Monson was second at 9-0 feet.

Henry Sloat ran to second in the 800 (2L16.77) and Caleb King was second in the 110 hurdles (18.65). Cohen Longacre also claimed second in the 300 hurdles at 43.96.

The Bulldogs took second in a pair of relays. The 800 saw Longacre, Monson, Alex Frederick and Carter Cartier post a time of 1:39.86. In the 400 relay, the team of Brendan Sre, Declan Kane, Cartier and Deandre Stout posted a time of 45.21.
