How to watch Bayern Munich vs Real Madrid: TV channel and live stream for Champions League today

Real Madrid travel to Bayern Munich tonight for the first leg of what should be a very entertaining Champions League semi-final tie.

Both teams narrowly defeated Premier League opposition in the quarter-finals. Bayern outlasted Arsenal 3-2 on aggregate, whilst Madrid snuck past Manchester City 4-3 on penalties after weathering a storm in the second half at the Etihad Stadium.

The tie is the latest iteration of the most repeated fixture in the Champions League. The two teams have faced each other 26 times in Europe. Madrid have a slight edge, with 12 wins to Bayern’s 11.

Recently Madrid have had the edge in the tie, knocking out Bayern in the semi-finals in both 2014 and 2018, and the quarter-finals in 2017.

The teams have had very differing fortunes domestically this term. Bayern have been knocked out of all the domestic cups, and have failed to win the Bundesliga for the first time in 12 years. Madrid defeated Barcelona to win Supercopa de Espana and are 13 points clear in LaLiga with five games left to play. With both teams’ domestic leagues settled, the Champions League is all either team has left to play for.
