Masters replay: Scottie Scheffler tops leaderboard, Tiger Woods has his worst Augusta round

It's Moving Day in Augusta.

You won't need two men and a truck, however, to see who the new kids on the block are. Instead, two major champions are joined by a top-10 player in the world and a Masters rookie in the final two pairings on Saturday at the Masters Tournament.

The field was jumbled Friday by high winds, leaving 60 of the 89 players making the cut of 6-over 150, the highest cutline in seven years. The field includes Tiger Woods, who set a record for consecutive cuts made, as well as longtime Masters champs Jose Maria Olazabal and Vijay Singh.

Stay tuned throughout the day to be up on all the action at Augusta National Golf Club on Saturday.

Masters 2024 third round comes to a close

Scottie Scheffler rolled in a birdie on the final hole to take a one-shot lead into Sunday's final round of the 2024 Masters. His 1-under par round bested Saturday's even-par showing and gives him a shot at his second green jacket in three years.

Bryson DeChambeau holes out for birdie at 18th

The two-time major champion parred every hole on the second nine as he holds a tie for the lead in the clubhouse at 6-under par. His 3-under par 69 saw four birdies and a bogey on the first nine and he's currently tied with Scottie Scheffler atop the leaderboard.

Bryson DeChambeau struggles on the 15th

The Day 1 leader found the water on his third shot on Saturday and ended with a double bogey on the Par-5 15th, a hole he had hoped to make up ground on leader Scottie Scheffler. At 3-under par, he now finds himself four shots off the lead.

Xander Schauffele with the lead in the clubhouse at the Masters

Schauffele carded a bogey-free round on Saturday and fired a 2-under 70 to move to 2-under and take the clubhouse lead. He's four shots behind leader Collin Morikawa

Back-to-back bogeys drop Nicolai Hojgaard from top of leaderboard

Bogeys at Nos. 11 and 12 have dropped Hojgaard from the lead. He's now tied for fourth with Bryson DeChambeau at 5-under, while Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Ludvig Aberg share the lead at 6-under.

Tiger Woods completes his worst round ever at the Masters

The five-time champ shot an 82 on Saturday, four strokes worse than his all-time high mark. It was a struggle the entire day as he had eight bogeys and a pair of double bogeys.

Nicolai Hojgaard jumps Scottie Scheffler at top of leaderboard

The Danish 23-year old sank a lengthy birdie putt to join Scheffler atop the Masters leaderboard at 7-under par. Scheffler then lipped out his putt for bogey and settled for a double bogey to fall to 5-under par. Hojgaard stands alone, a shot ahead of Collin Morikawa and Max Homa.

Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg moving up the Masters leaderboard

Morikawa (6-under) and Aberg (5-under) are each 3-under for their third rounds and climbing the leaderboard. Morikawa is just one shot off the lead held by Scottie Scheffler while Aberg is in a tie for fifth with Cameron Davis and Nicolai Hojgaard.

Who is Ryan Fox? He was climbing up the Masters leaderboard

New Zealand's Ryan Fox made a charge up the Masters leaderboard early Saturday but faded back with three bogeys on hole Nos. 7, 8 and 9.

Here's everything to know about the New Zealander.

Leaders stand pat; Lowry has rare eagle in third round

The leaders have been on the course for an hour and Scottie Scheffler still has the solo lead through 4 holes of the third round.

Collin Morikawa and Max Homa are a shot behind; Bryson DeChambeau is two back with a host of players three shots back.

Meanwhile, Shane Lowry holed out for eagle on No. 14 -- the first 2 on that par 4 since 2016. You'll see a lot of shots coming in from the left of the hole to take the slope back toward the pin today.

New challenger for the lead in Masters third round? A two-time major champ

Collin Morikawa has opened with three consecutive birdies on Saturday to pull within one shot of Scottie Scheffler for the lead at the Masters.

Morikawa is now at 6 under for the tournament. His second-round 70 was the second-best score of the round and he also had to complete eight holes of his first round on Friday morning. He's taken momentum from making birdie on 18 twice on Friday into Saturday.

He's paired with Cameron Davis, who's also made birdies on Nos. 2 and 3 to move to 5 under for the tournament.

Scottie Scheffler has the early third-round lead at the Masters

Scottie Scheffler has pitched in from 30 yards on the first hole to make birdie and move to 7 under.

It's Scheffler's second pitch-in of the tournament; he also made a bunker shot on No. 12 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Chris Kirk has the best round of the day completed -- making birdie on No. 18 to shoot 4-under-par 68. He's now in a tie for 18th at 1-over 215.

Who's on the move early among Masters leaders?

While the final pairings are about to tee off, there's a little bit of noise being made behind them by the chase group of players under par.

Ludvig Aberg birdied No. 2 to get to 3 under, while Ryan Fox opened with three consecutive birdies to get to 4 under. Collin Morikawa also birdied No. 1 to get to 4 under.

On a day where no truly low scores have been posted, any amount of early birdies will help in the long run.

Tiger Woods takes first double bogey of Masters

A bad drive on No. 7 led to a flurry of poor shots, and Tiger Woods took his first double bogey of the tournament on the uphill par 4.

He hit into the trees, didn't hit a good shot out, left his third in the front left bunker, pitched on and two-putted for a 6.

After his rare birdie on No. 5, he's given back three shots and stands at 4 over for the tournament.

Who is Nicolai Højgaard?

Playing in his first Masters, the 23-year old will tee off among the No. 1 ranked player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, on Saturday.

Højgaard is fourth alone at 4-under par, two behind Scheffler, Max Homa and Bryson DeChambeau, and will tee off at 2:35 p.m.

Who is Masters rookie Ludvig Aberg?

The Swedish golfer is playing his first major at the 2024 Masters but is near the top of the leaderboard after carding the only round in the 60s on Friday.

The former Texas Tech golfer is 2-under par and alone in seventh as he prepares to tee off at 2:15 p.m.

Who has the best round of the day at the Masters?

Georgia residents Chris Kirk and Luke List are both 3-under par for their rounds and boast the top two rounds of the day so far. Kirk, a Watkinsville resident, has jumped from 5-over to 2-over at the 14th while List, who lives in Augusta, is at 3-over at the 18th.

The toughest holes Saturday at Augusta National for the Masters

Holes 4, 5 and 6 are playing extremely tough on Saturday, with just one birdie on the three holes from players in the early waves. Will Zalatoris carded a 2 at the Par-3 fourth for the only under-par score of the day from the three holes after 36 players have passed through.

Rickie Fowler, Hideki Matsuyama complete first Saturday round at the Masters

Fowler shot a 2-under par 70 and Hideki Matsuyama carded a 1-under 70 as the first pairing of the day concluded its third round. They currently sit at 4-over and 5-over, respectively.

When does Tiger Woods tee off on Saturday?

The five-time champion will go off at 12:45 p.m. in a pairing with Tyrrell Hatton.

Woods made his 24th straight Masters cut that broke a tie with Fred Couples and Gary Player for the most all time.

Here's every way you can tune in to Woods' third round on Saturday.

Early pairings are underway for Masters third round; Matsuyama out strong

Former Masters Tournament champion Hideki Matsuyama made a double bogey on No. 18 late Friday, which looked to be enough to send him home early with a total score of 6-over 150.

However, the winds -- and maybe the golfing gods -- decided he should stick around a little longer, as the cut moved to that number and he made the weekend.

He's off in the first pairing of the day with Rickie Fowler, and Matsuyama has two birdies on his first four holes. Fowler opened with a bogey but righted the ship with two birdies of his own.

They are also currently the featured pairing on the Masters.com livestream.
