Masters payout, purse: What to know as prize money hits all-time high at Augusta National
Golf is unique in that the best in the world aren't guaranteed big pay days simply by showing up, instead earning large sums of prize money based on placement in tournaments.
It's all based on score. And the lower the score, the higher the bankroll.
With the prestigious Masters tournament underway at Augusta National Golf Club, there will be eyes on who takes home the most prize money on when the four-round tournament concludes Sunday.

While putting the green jacket earned from winning the tournament is alone worth it for many golfers, the money is significant.

Masters prize money 2024: Payout, purse
The Masters purse was announced Saturday morning, with an increase to $20 million for the total payout in 2024.
That's an increase of $2 million from 2023.
Masters winner payout
Jon Rahm, who won the 2023 Masters, was awarded $3.24 million for winning the tournament a year ago.
This year's champion will take home $3.6 million, along with the title of Masters champion, and be able to take their green jacket outside Augusta National Golf Club for the year.

Masters prize money for top 10
Here's the full prize breakdown from the top-10 Masters finishers, as well as the top 50. Anyone past 50th place will receive a prize downward from $49,200, depending on their final placement.:
