IHSAA basketball Fab 15: Don't forget about the defending champs. They're on the rise.

We are a few days from the sectional draw. Before the brackets are shown Sunday, a look at this week’s Fab 15, a weekly ranking of the top high school basketball teams in Central Indiana:

1. Fishers (19-1)

Fishers was pushed into the final minute against Cathedral in its only game of the week before pulling out a 56-51 victory. Freshman Jason Gardner Jr. provided a lift with seven of his 11 points in the third quarter and senior Keenan Garner led the way with 14 points. The Tigers have a big game Tuesday at home vs. Lawrence North and play at Zionsville on Friday. Previous: 1.

2. Westfield (16-2)

The Shamrocks rolled to wins over Harrison (West Lafayette) 73-55 and knocked off Hamilton Heights, 86-37. Will Harvey had 18 points and six rebounds in the win over Harrison and Nic Book went for 23 points and seven rebounds in the victory over Hamilton Heights. Up next: University (Tuesday) and Franklin Central (Friday). Previous: 3.

3. Noblesville (18-2)

The Millers rolled to a 72-37 win over Liberty Christian early in the week and rallied from a 16-point deficit for a 61-57 win over Brownsburg as Hunter Walston finished with 21 points and Justin Curry added 13. Senior guard Aaron Fine missed the game due to illness. Noblesville has a one-game week with Avon visiting on Friday. Previous: 4.

4. Ben Davis (15-4)

The Giants jump up a spot after knocking off Covenant Christian 74-47 and Lawrence North 60-53. K.J. Windham had 29 points in the win over the Wildcats to come within one point of 1,000 for his career. Another tough test coming this week with Cathedral visiting on Friday night. The game scheduled against Lawrence Central last Saturday was moved to Feb. 20 due to the Lawrence Central girls team playing in the regional. Previous: 5.

5. Lawrence North (19-2)

It might be a little harsh to drop the Wildcats three spots after a 60-53 loss to Ben Davis but this is a power poll based on which teams are playing the best right now and that was a second loss in three games. Lawrence North did bounce back with an 84-46 win over Fort Wayne Snider. Up next: at Fishers (Tuesday) and vs. Pike (Friday). Previous: 2.

6. Greenfield-Central (20-0)

The Cougars rolled to a 62-32 win over Franklin County as Boston Willard scored 23 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the 3-point line and added six assists. Greenfield-Central then knocked off Avon 54-50 as Braylon Mullins went for 32 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Up next: at Martinsville (Saturday). Previous: 7.

7. Cathedral (14-4)

Cathedral battled Fishers deep into the fourth quarter before dropping a 56-51 decision. Anthony Fields had 16 points and eight rebounds in the loss. The Irish bounced back with a 70-61 win over Franklin Central as Keaton Aldridge went for 25 points and four rebounds and Sheldon Gatlin added 16 points on 4-for-5 shooting from the 3-point line. Another tough week ahead with games at Ben Davis (Friday) and at Louisville Male (Saturday). Previous: 6.

8. Center Grove (14-4)

The Trojans took out Zionsville 60-49 and Jeffersonville 71-55 to extend their winning streak to eight games. Joey Schmitz was perfect from the field, including 4-for-4 from the 3-point line, for 21 points in the win over Jeffersonville. Up next: at Mooresville (Tuesday). Previous: 8.

9. Crispus Attucks (17-5)

No games for Attucks last week, which allowed junior Dezmon Briscoe to take a visit to Cincinnati. The Tigers get back to it this week with a game against Purdue Poly. Previous: 10.

10. Brebeuf Jesuit (13-4)

The Braves knocked off Covenant Christian 77-46 in their only game of the week as Evan Haywood scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Javawn Brooks added 14 points. Senior Reis Butcher, who had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists, committed to Marian. Up next: Carmel (Tuesday) and at Heritage Christian (Friday). Previous: 11.

11. Hamilton Southeastern (15-6)

The Royals are one of the hottest teams on this list with four consecutive wins and victories in seven of their past eight. Braeden Totton had 12 points, four rebounds and three steals to lead a balanced offense in a 45-39 win over Carmel and Donovan Hamilton went for 26 in a 75-69 win over Southport. HSE will host Brownsburg on Friday night. Previous: 12.

12. Carmel (9-10)

The Greyhounds saw their five-game winning streak snapped with a 45-39 loss to Hamilton Southeastern. Evan Harrell led Carmel with 11 points and four rebounds. The Greyhounds are back on the road this week at Brebeuf Jesuit (Tuesday) and Warren Central (Friday). Previous: 9.

13. New Palestine (17-4)

The Dragons went 3-0 for the week with victories over Guerin Catholic (63-61), Shelbyville (72-52) and Connersville (86-39). Julius Gizzi and Moses Haynes each had 17 points in the win over Guerin and Ben Slagley added 16 points and eight rebounds, including the game-winning basket. A couple of tough tests this week at Mt. Vernon (Friday) and vs. Whiteland (Saturday). Previous: 13.

14. Franklin (15-3)

The Grizzly Cubs rolled to a 67-24 win over Perry Meridian as Wyatt Nickleson scored 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the 3-point line. Franklin was 10-for-24 from the 3-point line. Up next: at Plainfield (Friday). Previous: 14.

15. Lawrence Central (10-8)

The Bears won their fifth consecutive game with a 74-62 win over Washington. Greg Martin was 6-for-8 from the 3-point line and had 18 points to lead four players in double figures. This is a one-game week for Lawrence Central vs. Tindley on Tuesday. Previous: NR.

Dropped out: Brownsburg (15)

Next five in line: Brownsburg (12-10), Warren Central (12-9), Zionsville (11-10), Mt. Vernon (13-8), North Central (13-7)
