Bills RB McCoy active vs. Jaguars after rehabbing ankle

Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was declared active for Sunday's AFC wild-card playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after he had been questionable all week with a right ankle injury.

McCoy was carted off during last Sunday's 22-16 victory over the Miami Dolphins in the regular-season finale after being tackled in the second half.

The 29-year-old McCoy said Thursday he believed he could play this week. He didn't participate in Thursday's practice but stretched beforehand and returned to practice Friday on a limited basis.

"People that know me, they know I want to be out there," McCoy said Thursday. "But I've been in situations like this before here, playing on a bad ankle, bad foot, bad hamstring. I didn't do well at all, and I kind of hurt it, being in the same situation. I know my body, I know myself. Especially the way I play, it's more cutting than running. So, just trying to get better."

McCoy carried 287 times for 1,138 yards and six touchdowns in his third season in Buffalo after being traded by the Philadelphia Eagles. He has gone over 1,000 yards in six of his nine NFL seasons and passed the 10,000-yard rushing mark for his career this season.

Behind McCoy, the Bills have veteran fullback/running back Mike Tolbert and the team promoted Marcus Murphy from the practice squad for the Week 17 game against Miami.

The Bills will be without starting linebacker Matt Milano for Sunday's game after the fifth-round rookie did not practice all week because of a hamstring injury. Ramon Humber was expected to start in his place.

Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon (illness) was listed among the inactives against the Bills. Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee was active despite an ankle injury that kept him out of the last two regular-season games.
