Bayern Munich XI vs Arsenal: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Champions League today

Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sane both return to the Bayern Munich starting lineup for tonight’s Champions League clash with Arsenal.

Thomas Tuchel received a major boost ahead of Tuesday’s quarter-final first-leg tie, with five players back in training on Monday.

Neuer and Sane are straight back into the XI, with Aleksandar Pavlovic, Kingsley Coman and Noussair Mazraoui all on the bench.

The quintet all took part in training on Monday morning in Munich in what was a big boost for Tuchel’s side.

Neuer has missed the previous two games for Bayern after tearing a muscle in his left adductor while training with Germany last month. In the absence of Neuer, Sven Ulreich has played the last two matches and Bayern lost both of those games, conceding four goals in the process.

Neuer’s return is a huge boost and the goalkeeper is itching to get back after being forced to miss the start of the season due to injury. The 38-year-old did not make his first appearance of the campaign until October after a broken leg picked up on a skiing trip forced him to be out for 10 months.

Sane had been suffering with a groin strain at the start of March and was forced to leave training early last week. Pavlovic has been ill with tonsillitis and Mazraoui picked up a muscle issue after defeat to Borussia Dortmund at the end of last month.

Coman injured his knee in January and, after returning against Dortmund last month, picked up a muscle issue.
