Denny Hamlin on the pole at Pocono

Denny Hamlin on the pole at Pocono

It's like Denny Hamlin is a rookie all over again.

OK, so it's not that far of a flashback. But Hamlin got his first pole at Pocono on Friday since his rookie season, where he was on the pole for both Pocono races. And in that season, 2006, he won both Pocono races, his first of four Pocono wins. Will he be able to do it again on Sunday?

After Friday's qualifying session, there's not Team Penske car on the front row, either. But it's not like Brad Keselowski qualified poorly. Kurt Busch is second while Keselowski is third. And Keselowski's teammate, Joey Logano, is seventh.

Between the Penske cars are Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch. While Hamlin and Kyle Busch were in the top six, Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth was off in the first round of qualifying. He'll start 26th.

The rest of the top 10 is Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brian Vickers and Carl Edwards.

All 43 cars who attempted to qualify made the race, including Dave Blaney, who spun in the first round of qualifying and didn't record a time.
