Women's college basketball AP Top 25 Poll: South Carolina, Iowa finish seasons at Nos. 1, 2
South Carolina stands alone atop the final women's college basketball AP Top 25 poll.
The Gamecocks concluded their perfect 38-0 season with an 87-75 win over Iowa in the national championship on Sunday, avenging their Final Four loss to Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes in last season's March Madness.

South Carolina forward Kamilla Cardoso was named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player after securing a career-high 17 rebounds with 15 points and three blocks in the national championship. Cardoso is a projected first-round pick in the upcoming WNBA draft.
Coach Dawn Staley will have likely another contender in 2024-25, as the Gamecocks could return four of their five starters from last season, including key bench players MiLaysia Fulwiley, Ashlyn Watkins and Tessa Johnson, who scored a team-high 19 points in the national championship.
Iowa, meanwhile, finished as the No. 2 team in the nation, followed by UConn and NC State in the Nos. 3 and 4 spots, respectively. JuJu Watkins-led USC and Angel Reese-led LSU finished in the Nos. 5 and 6 spots, respectively, as well.
