Where is Alabama softball ranked in the preseason polls for 2024?
Alabama softball enters the 2024 season as the No. 14 team in the country per the ESPN.com/USA Softball preseason top 25 that was released on Jan. 23.
Alabama also ranks No, 12 in the USA Today/NFCA preseason top 25 coaches poll that was released on Jan. 30.
The Crimson Tide is coming off its 14th Women's College World Series appearance last season. Alabama finished the 2023 season going 45-22 overall and ranked No. 7 in the final ESPN.com/USA Softball top 25 poll and the final USA Today/NFCA top 25 coaches poll.
Alabama returns 15 players from its roster last season along with seven newcomers but is without ace pitcher Montana Fouts after she finished her NCAA eligibility last season. The Crimson Tide opens its 2024 season on Feb. 8 vs. Villanova in the Buzz Classic in Atlanta, Georgia. It opens home play at Rhoads Stadium on Feb. 16, hosting St. Thomas in the 2024 Easton Bama Bash.
