UNC baseball still out of USA TODAY coaches poll

We have just one more week left in the 2023 college baseball season before the focus shifts to conference tournaments and then the NCAA tournament.

For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they entered last week still projected to make the NCAA Tournament but still needed to finish strong to avoid a disaster. And they responded with a 4-0 week.

The Tar Heels beat Gardner-Webb on Tuesday and the followed it up with a three-game sweep of NC State. The three-game sweep officially put UNC in the 2023 ACC Tournament as they look to defend their crown.

Even with the four-game week and a five-game win streak, the Tar Heels are still not ranked in the USA TODAY Sports’ updated rankings. Instead, they are the first team out as they received 55 votes.
