Top three NFL draft-eligible cornerbacks in the Big Ten for 2022

It is never too early to talk about the NFL Draft, and one of the most polarizing and fun positions to discuss is the cornerback position. The Ohio State football program makes a solid argument as DBU (or BIA as it may), but Penn State also has an extremely impressive resume with names like Rich Gardner, David Macklin, and Paul Lankford.

Obviously, we have to have one Buckeye stud on this list and he will be hoping to land at the top of the NFL draft like other former Ohio State legends like Jeff Okudah, Damon Arnette, and Denzel Ward.  We also have a rare Rutgers appearance on this list, but let’s dive in.

Joey Porter Jr., Penn State - 6-foot, 2-inches, 198-pounds

It shouldn’t be shocking that the son of Joey Porter is an elite corner. Joey Porter Jr. is a lockdown corner who checks all of the boxes to do the same thing in the NFL. He will likely be a first-round selection given his ability to play on the outside as a rookie and his elite ball skills.

Cameron Brown, Ohio State - 6-foot, 0-inches, 190-pounds

Cameron Brown is an experienced stud at corner who is underrated due to how fast Denzel Burke’s star rose. Brown could potentially end up being the better of the two this season with his skill set, but one thing is for sure, this is the most elite corner tandem in the Big Ten.

Avery Young, Rutgers - 6- foot, 195-pounds

Avery Young has 42 career starts at Rutgers and is entering his fifth year as the starter. This will be his second season at safety after starting his career at corner. Last season, Young tallied 81 tackles and two sacks during his first season at safety. Despite starting at safety, Young projects best to corner at the NFL level.
