St. Johns County baseball: St. Joseph overpowers Christ's Church in first round

The Flashes are marching on.

Connor Lewis went 3 for 3 and St. Joseph blew the game open with eight runs in the fourth inning, powering 13-2 past Christ's Church (15-9) in Wednesday night's Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-2A baseball quarterfinal.

Camden Biskup and Aiden Torrez tripled for the Flashes (20-8), and each recorded three RBI.

Jacob Guthmiller pitched three innings for the victory for St. Joseph, combining with Brayden Johns and Neil Gornto on a two-hitter.

St. Joseph next advances to a 4 p.m. Saturday game in the state capital against perennial championship contender Tallahassee North Florida Christian.
