San Diego State vs. UConn: Predictions, picks, odds for 2024 March Madness game

Sixteen teams remain in the Division I NCAA men's tournament. This year's Sweet 16 features a national title game rematch.

Nearly one year to the day of UConn's 2023 national championship game win over San Diego State, the two teams will face off once again. This time, it's just three rounds earlier.

The Huskies overwhelmed the Aztecs, 76-59, in last year's game. So far in this tournament, No. 1 UConn has continued to do the same to its opponents. The Big East tournament winners defeated No. 16 Stetson by 39 points on Friday before defeating No. 9 Northwestern by 17 points on Sunday. Neither game was particularly close.

No. 5 San Diego State narrowly avoided an upset at the hands of No. 12 UAB in the first round with a 69-65 win but took care of business with a 85-57 victory over No. 13 Yale on Sunday night.

Here's everything to know about Thursday's Sweet 16 clash.

The UCONN Huskies are the #1 seed in the East Region. Jonathan the Husky is the mascot of the University of Connecticut. The costumed version and the canine version are named Jonathan in honor of Jonathan Trumbull, the last first state Governor of Connecticut.
