Round two is here: Previews of Northeast Florida's girls lacrosse second-round playoffs

The Florida High School Athletic Association girls lacrosse playoffs continue with Tuesday's second round for Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.

All games 7 p.m. unless noted

REGION 1-2A

Oviedo (12-9) at Bartram Trail (14-5)

The Bears, who racked up 21 goals in their playoff opener, continue their chase for a third straight state title against Oviedo and 62-goal attacker Payton Pagan. Bartram Trail already beat the Lions 19-3 in February, with five goals each from Ryann Frechette and Emily Barnette.

Tocoi Creek (13-5) at Lake Mary (15-5)

There's an average of 14 goals per game for the Toros, still rising on the list of St. Johns County's top teams. Their task is tough against Lake Mary and its balanced attack, with 30-goal scorers Audrey Arigo, Lauren Arigo, Ashlee Johnson and Mikayla Thomas.

REGION 1-1A

Gainesville Oak Hall (14-4) at Ponte Vedra (12-7)

The Sharks have won five in a row and bring a devastating scorer in senior Lily Toole into the action around the net. They'll have to watch out for Harper Johnson, who scored eight times in districts against Menendez. Ponte Vedra has dominated the series for a decade.

Pensacola Catholic (20-2) at Episcopal (11-7)

Can the Eagles extend their winning run? They played a tight one with Pensacola Catholic in March, a 15-11 Episcopal victory with four goals for the Crusaders' Julia Frosch and five for Episcopal attacker Maeve O'Neil. Episcopal also topped Pensacola Catholic 15-9 in 2023.
