Pittsburgh Steelers at Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 3 game

Editor’s note: Follow all the NFL Week 3 action with USA TODAY Sports’ live coverage.

A pair of 1-1 teams will hope to get another win in the early season on "Sunday Night Football" when the Las Vegas Raiders (1-1) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1).

After its defense got exposed in an embarrassing Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh turned it around on "Monday Night Football" with a big win against the Cleveland Browns. The offense wasn't stellar, but the defense scored two touchdowns and looked like the top-notch unit known to play in black and gold.

It's back to the drawing board for Las Vegas after the were outplayed in all facets of the game in a 28-point loss to the Buffalo Bills. Weapons like Josh Jacobs and Davante Adams were bottled up for the majority of the game, and the coaching staff will need them to have their usual star performance if they want to make it back to the playoffs.

Lorenzo Reyes: Steelers 14, Raiders 10

For Pittsburgh to have a chance in games, it’s clear it’s going to have to come on the back of a defensive effort. The problem for Las Vegas is that Josh Jacobs has been awfully quiet and Jimmy Garoppolo has been very average thus far. The under is a great option here.

Tyler Dragon: Steelers 24, Raiders 21

T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith were the best playmakers for Pittsburgh last week. The two pass rushers have the ability to wreck the game in Las Vegas. As long as the Steelers don’t let Davante Adams breakout, they should be fine.

Victoria Hernandez: Steelers 20, Raiders 13

The answer here is the Steelers defense, who has scored just as many touchdowns as Pittsburgh’s offense this season. Jimmy Garoppolo has thrown three interceptions in two games and the Raiders quarterback is TJ Watt’s next sack victim.

Jordan Mendoza: Steelers 23, Raiders 19

If the Steelers defense continues to play the way it did against the Browns, it's hard to bet against most teams being able to dominate them. The Raiders do have star power on the offensive end, but the Pittsburgh defense holds them down and powers the way for another low scoring win.
