Michigan State football heavy favorite over Rutgers in Mel Tucker's Big Ten debut

Las Vegas really likes Michigan State football and Mel Tucker. Well, more than Rutgers, at least.

The Spartans and their new coach open as 15.5-point favorites over the Scarlet Knights in their clash noon Saturday. Over/under for the game starts at 47.5, according to pregame.com.

MSU will host Rutgers in its first contest since the Big Ten decided to play football after initially postponing the fall season in the summer. Rutgers will have a "new coach" of sorts as Greg Schiano returns for his second stint with the Knights nearly nine years after he left for the NFL.

The Spartans are 8-3 in the series and have won the last six matchups.
