Justin Thomas Masters tracker: score, live updates for Thomas at 2024 Masters Tournament

Former Alabama golfer Justin Thomas missed the cut at the Masters Tournament for the second year in a row after shooting 7-over par in the second round. He finished 7-over for the tournament, two strokes below the cut line of 5-over.

Thomas made his ninth consecutive appearance at Augusta National this year and started the tournament by shooting an even-par 72 in Thursday's first round. After a steady day for most of Friday, Thomas collapsed down the stretch by adding seven strokes over the last four holes to finish 7-over par and miss the cut. He struggled on the greens all day, as he failed to convert a handful of birdie putts in the heart of the course and was doomed by three double-bogeys in the end, all three of which resulted from more poor putting.

Thomas, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, joined the Crimson Tide golf team in 2012 and was a member of the 2013 national championship team. He joined the PGA Tour in 2013 and has accumulated 15 tour wins in his career. He has won two major championships, winning the PGA Championship in 2017 and 2022. In 2018, Thomas became the 21st golfer to achieve the No. 1 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Disastrous final stretch ends Justin Thomas' Masters before the weekend

Following back-to-back double bogeys on 15 and 16, Thomas missed par with another failed short putt and settled for a bogey to fall to 5-over. Needing par or better to make the cut on the par-4 final hole, Thomas drove his tee shot into the trees and had to put out. He got within good putting range on his fourth shot, but it was already too late for him to stay above the cut line of 5-over. Seeming dejected, Thomas missed yet another short putt to take his third double-bogey in the last four holes.

Considering the windy conditions at Augusta on Friday, Thomas had a very steady day until the last four holes. After pulling even on 13, he had three double-bogeys and a bogey over the last four holes. Thomas failed to make the cut at the Masters for the second consecutive year.
