Illinois players, coaches join Iowa fans in waving to nearby children's hospital

Iowa fans waving to the children at the nearby Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital has quickly become one of the best traditions in college football.

The Hawkeyes introduced it to the world in Week 1 and have been doing at the end of the first quarter for every home game since. On Saturday, the opposing team got into the act with the Illinois players and coaches joining the Hawkeyes fans.

How cool is that?

And at halftime, the Iowa marching band formed a giant waving hand for the kids, too.

The gesture looked especially awesome when Iowa hosted Penn State for a primetime game.

For reference, here’s the view of Kinnick Stadium for the kids.

This will never get old.
