Goodpasture, Richland enter Nashville area high school girls basketball Small Class rankings

The Tennessean’s Nashville area high school girls Small Class rankings have a few changes as the TSSAA basketball postseason approaches.

Schools chosen are from Class 1A, 2A and Division II-A. Results were compiled from games between Jan. 29-Feb. 3.

1. York Institute (17-5) — Reese Beaty averaged 15 points and Cali Franklin averaged 12 in wins against Jackson County and Smith County. Last week: No. 1. This week: vs. Warren County (Monday); at Monterey (Tuesday); at Smith County (Friday). 

2. Wayne County (17-3) — Blair Baugus averaged 17 points, while Jac Keaton and Emma Bryant each averaged 10 in wins against Clements (Alabama), Huntland and Perry County. Last week: No. 3. This week: at Collinwood (Monday); at Huntland (Tuesday); vs. Collinwood (Friday). 

3. Summertown (21-5) — The Lady Eagles went 3-0 and knocked off previous No. 2 Loretto, 51-30. Karlie Campbell scored 21 points against Loretto, and Abbie Shaffer had 11. Last week: No. 6. This week: at Lewis County (Tuesday); vs. Mt. Pleasant (Thursday). 

4. PCA (18-4) — PCA went 3-0 thanks to a tight 44-41 win over FRA. Daisy Gale scored 20 points in the win, going 14-for-16 from the foul line. Kim Bjornstad scored 13 points. Last week: No. 4. This week: vs. TBD at Grace Christian, DII-A District 3 tournament semifinals (Friday). 

5. Cheatham County (22-2) — Abbilyn Teter averaged 20.6 points in three wins as the Lady Cubs’ win streak reached 11. Last week: No. 5. This week: at Harpeth (Monday); vs. Hickman County (Friday). 

6. Goodpasture (18-3) — Addi Ruffin averaged 12.3 points in three wins. Brooklyn Jones scored 17 points in a 46-29 senior night win against Ezell-Harding to end the week. Last week: Not ranked. This week: vs. TBD at Clarksville Academy, DII-A District 4 tournament semifinals (Friday).

7. Loretto (19-1) — The Lady Mustangs’ 18-game win streak came to a close with a 50-31 loss to rival Summertown. Ally Weathers scored 16 points. Last week: No. 2. This week: at Mt. Pleasant (Tuesday); at Richland (Thursday). 

8. Pickett County (18-2) — Zoey Nicholas averaged 19 points in three wins. Emmy Lowe and Ella Kate Keisling each averaged 14 as the Bobcats reached 14 straight wins. Last week: No. 10. This week: vs. Gordonsville (Tuesday); at Oneida (Thursday).

9. East Robertson (13-4)  — Allye Pennington scored 39 points in a win over Greenbrier on Friday. Last week: No. 9. This week: at Knowledge Academies (Tuesday); vs. White House Heritage (Friday). 

10. Richland (17-5) — Shelby Higgins averaged 27 points in two wins, including 33 in a 62-19 win over Hampshire. Last week: Not ranked. This week: vs. Culleoka (Tuesday); vs. Loretto (Thursday); at Hampshire (Friday). 

Dropped out: Moore County, Pearl-Cohn.
