Glenn soccer player Keller Marchant voted Austin-area Boys Athlete of the Week
Glenn goalkeeper Keller Marchant, who posted four shutouts and allowed only one goal in five playoff games to push the Grizzlies to the UIL state soccer tournament, was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Boys Athlete of the Week for April 1-6.
Marchant received 46% of the vote. Dripping Springs baseball player Tristan Ciechanowicz, Georgetown baseball player Ryley Leininger, Johnson baseball player Jayden Lopez and Vandegrift soccer player Charlie Reed also were candidates. Vandegrift soccer player Yandel Andrade won the previous poll, for March 25-30.
The American-Statesman will have a weekly vote for Boys Athlete of the Week and Girls Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
