Cowgirl JV takes care of Concordia

Apr. 25—The Abilene junior varsity Cowgirl softball team thumped Concordia to win a pair of games Monday night in Abilene.

Pounding out 10 hits including a double from Grace Hunter and a homerun off the bat of Elissa Sweat, the Cowgirls easily took game one 7-1 in four innings.

KaiLee Crane earned the win in the circle for Abilene allowing an earned run on four hits over four innings. She struck out five and walked one.

Crane also busted two hits and drove in a run to help her cause. Elizabeth Brooks also had two hits and drove in a run. Sweat drove in two with her big hit. Hunter, Miranda Radenberg, Madison Simenson, Paige Reynolds and Kaylin Flynn all had hits for Abilene in the win.

Grace Hunter tossed a no-hit shutout in the second game as the Cowgirls won 17-0 in four innings. Hunter set the lineup down with nine strikeouts walking one batter.

The Cowgirls only had three hits in the romp but were aided by 10 walks by the Concordia pitchers.

Isabella Kauer drove in four runs with a homer and Brooks smashed a triple to score three runners. Sweat also accounted for four RBI in the game with a hit. Radenberg and Crane also had RBI's.
