This blue-chip ATH getting coaches visit from Florida Wednesday

Outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson is putting in the miles is week as he hits the road to cover his recruiting region — north Florida and south Georgia — on behalf of Florida football. On Wednesday, four-star athlete Kamron Mikell out of Statesboro (Georgia) is scheduled to host the Gators coach, who has been his primary point of contact thus far in his recruiting process.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 181-pound prep prospect, who is listed both as an athlete and a defensive back by various services, received an offer from the Orange and Blue last fall during a game day visit to campus. He has an official visit set with Florida for the weekend of May 19, along with treks to see the Vanderbilt Commodores and Tennessee Volunteers also on his itinerary this month.

Mikell is ranked No. 156 overall and No. 12 at the athlete position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 154 overall and No. 17 as a cornerback nationally. The Georgia Bulldogs hold both of his crystal ball predictions from 247Sports and On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine agrees with a 95.2% chance of signing on with the ‘Dawgs.
