According to multiple outlets, Kentucky freshman defensive end Lloyd Tubman was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree rape by Lexington/Fayette County police. In a statement, Kentucky confirmed the charges and said that Tubman is suspended indefinitely. The statement also said that Tubman “is subject to discipline under the University’s Code of Student Conduct.”

"Obviously, I'm very concerned about the allegations and all parties involved," head coach Mark Stoops said. "We're working extremely hard to develop quality young men on and off the field. We will continue to cooperate with the local and campus authorities while the process takes its course."

According to the Herald-Leader, the alleged incident took place Thursday “at 11:45 a.m. in a residence hall.”

In the state of Kentucky, first-degree rape is a Class B felony that can result in 10-20 years in prison.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Tubman is a native of Louisville who was a three-star recruit in Kentucky’s 2014 class. Tubman previously made verbal commitments to both Vanderbilt and Penn State before ultimately signing with Kentucky.

Earlier in the week, Florida freshman quarterback Treon Harris was suspended indefinitely after being accused of sexual assault early Sunday morning.
