Alex Rodriguez has shown a far more likable side of his personality since retiring from baseball in 2016. The player-turned-analyst has done such an exceptional job charming and informing audiences as a broadcaster that he’s actually employed by both ESPN and Fox Sports.

His personal life is going well too, now that he gets to spend more time with his daughters and girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. And dare we say his time away from the field has brought about a more playful side as well?

Indeed, A-Rod has turned into quite the jokester while on the air with former rival David Ortiz, and even on social media. That latter is where he unleashed his latest bit of mischievousness. In a video posted to Twitter late Friday night, A-Rod teamed with his family, friends and mentalist Lior Suchard to pull off an epic “supernatural” prank on Lopez.

Warning: There are a couple NSFW words used in the video below.

Every video like this leaves room for skepticism. But honestly, it looked like they legitimately got J-Lo hook, line and sinker with that one.

It proves that there are no limits to the pranks one can pull when their extensive friends list includes a self-described “mystifier” and “supernatural entertainer”. It also helps when you have so many friends willing to not only feign hypnosis, but ones that have impeccable timing in doing so.

Whether you believe in the supernatural is irrelevant here. What is relevant is that A-Rod got one up on Jenny from the block.

A-Rod 1, J-Lo 0.

She was a good sport this time. But we’re guessing retribution will be coming when A-Rod least expects it.
