After the first round on Monday, No. 1 ranked Scottsdale Prep led the field by seven strokes as the team sought fourth-straight championship. But a dominant showing by Valley Christian and a lackluster second round for Scottsdale Prep sealed the deal on Tuesday, as Valley Christian's 1-under round propelled them to the win.

Scottsdale Christian shot 1-under as well in the second round, keeping close to Valley Christian but finished second with a score of 593. Scottsdale Prep's 17-over second round bumped them down to a third place finish at 595.

Valley Christian junior Ailis Tribolet shot a 12-under-par 132, including a 9-under 63 on Tuesday, to capture the individual title by four strokes.

"We didn't expect this at all. We didn't expect to win," Tribolet told AZPreps365 on Tuesday. "I kind of knew that I had my game right off the bat, just tried to stay patient all day and let the birdies come."

Valley Christian head coach Scott Longanecker earned his seventh state championship, having won six championships (2013-16, 2018-29) before the team's victory on Tuesday. Longanecker believes this is the best team he's coached in his tenure.

"This team's amazing, we're scrappy," Longanecker told AZPreps365.

Phoenix County Day sophomore Brady Sheridan shot a 6-under 136 to take second overall, the top individual score among boys. Phoenix Christian junior JJ Brigowatz took third with a 3-under 139.
