Aidan Hutchinson shares a weird, funny Jim Harbaugh story

Asked at an event what was an example of a funny or weird Jim Harbaugh story that he had from his time in Ann Arbor, Hutchinson shared an anecdote of when he was injured in Week 3 in 2020 against Indiana. He had just broken his ankle, effectively ending his season, and as the medical staff and coaches went to check on him, Harbaugh was more concerned with preventative measures that Hutchinson could have taken to keep him from suffering such a gruesome injury.
“When I got injured my junior year, I broke my ankle, so I was laying on the turf against Indiana, just wincing in pain,” Hutchinson said. “I couldn’t even breathe. I’m laying on the ground, I see a circle of heads above me. And the first thing he says is, ‘Did you tape your ankles?’ I was like, ‘No, I didn’t.’ And there was silence. So it made me feel a little bit bad!”

Of course, Hutchinson harbors absolutely zero resentment, noting that such behavior is par for the course when it comes to the Michigan head coach.
“That was a very Harbaugh-esque thing to say,” Hutchinson said. “Just very blunt and very — I’m holding my ankle — ‘Did you tape your ankles?’ So now I tape my ankles!”
Hutchinson is projected to be, at worst, a top two pick in the upcoming NFL draft, but he still has to go through the rigors of the NFL scouting combine, which takes place in late February, early March.
