Canadiens D Subban signs two-year deal
Defenseman P.K. Subban signed to a two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.
The team did not disclose financial terms, but TVA Sports reported that the deal is worth $5.75 million, with Subban receiving $2 million this year and $3.75 million next season.
Subban, 23, had seven goals (five on power plays), 29 assists and 119 penalty minutes last season. No Canadiens player averaged more time on the ice (24:18) than Subban did a year ago.
Subban's NHL career totals include 21 goals (three game-winners), 55 assists and 245 penalty minutes. He was a member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2010-11.
