LA Galaxy’s Sean Franklin unleashes a stunner from distance in MLS Cup playoffs

In defender Sean Franklin's six seasons with the LA Galaxy, he had scored a total of five goals (four in 2011, one this season). It was a neat little sum that matched his shirt number, but then he had to go and ruin it by scoring the only goal in the first leg of the Galaxy's Western Conference semifinal against Salt Lake. And it was definitely a goal worthy of ruining obsessive compulsive perfection.

With an embarrassing amount of space to meet a pass that came from the endline, Franklin charged in from another time zone to blast a wonderful shot just out of the reach of a diving Nick Rimando. And that's how you score your first ever playoff goal in style.
