Footballer slides into awkward hug with woman standing pitchside

While attempting to chase down a ball headed out of play during a Portuguese Primeira Liga match, Belenenses striker Deyverson inadvertently created an awkward moment between himself and a woman standing pitchside. The 23-year-old Brazilian slide on his backside as he went after the ball, sending him right towards the woman. He was able to get up just before running into her, but still sliding his feet, he put his arms around her in an attempt to steady himself and prevent a collision.

Once he came to a complete stop, he found himself essentially hugging someone who wasn't hugging back and quickly pulled away. This might be how two people would meet in a romantic comedy, but in real life it's just a bit uncomfortable.
