Yankees to give away George Costanza bobbleheads for 'Seinfeld' night on July 5
The New York Yankees will be giving away George Costanza bobbleheads this summer in honor of the "Seinfeld" character's stint working for the team as assistant to the traveling secretary.
The team said "Seinfeld" night will take place on July 5, and the first 18,000 fans who arrive at Yankee Stadium for the game against the Boston Red Sox will receive a bobblehead likeness of George Costanza, who was portrayed by actor Jason Alexander on the hit 1990s sitcom.
"Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle... Costanza?!?" the team joked on X, formerly Twitter.
The bobblehead shows Costanza in a batting stance, with his fictional title, assistant to the traveling secretary, inscribed on the base.
Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle... Costanza?!?

A baseball game fan appreciation giveaway was the subject of one memorable episode, in which series star and co-creator Jerry Seinfeld called in a fake bomb threat to Yankee Stadium to demand the team give away fitted hats instead of snapbacks. It fell to George to collect thousands of hat sizes.
In an episode seemingly foreshadowing Major League Baseball's recent issues with its new see-through uniforms, George introduced 100% cotton uniforms for the Yankees, decrying the feel of polyester. But the uniforms shrank in the wash, and constricted the players at their next game.
Although Jason Alexander was nominated for seven Prime Time Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Seinfeld's neurotic best friend, he lost every time, in very George Costanza fashion.
