Wright trade could open door for Banks

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dealt cornerback Eric Wright to the San Francisco 49ers last week, it left a hole in the secondary opposite star off-season acquisition Darrelle Revis.

One of the players high on the list of possible replacements for Wright is second-round pick Jonathan Banks of Mississippi State, says the Tampa Bay Times.

Banks was one of those beauty in the eye of the beholder type players in the draft, as some scouts and observers loved what they saw out of him, and others were not so enamored with his play.

Nonetheless, the Bucs will give the rookie a full opportunity to claim the starting spot opposite Revis, which should mean plenty of opposing QBs throwing footballs his way, rather than challenging Revis Island.
