Who will win Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich? UEFA Champions League predictions, picks and odds

The UEFA Champions League is back in action this week after another four-week hiatus. Eight teams now remain in the quarter-finals with first legs kicking off Tuesday and Wednesday.

Arsenal of the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga's Bayern Munich are two of those final eight teams, and they face off on Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium.

The English club is coming off of a close couple of contests with Porto that came down to penalty kicks in the round of 16 after a 1-1 aggregate score. The Gunners are now into the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since the 2009-10 season in which they also defeated Porto in the round of 16. Arsenal have never won the Champions League.

Bayern Munich are in the quarter-finals for the second straight year after beating Italian club Lazio in the round of 16. They lost to eventual champions Manchester City last season and won their sixth Champions League title in the 2019-20 season.

Here's everything to know about this Champions League quarter-final clash.

Arsenal vs. Bayern Munich predictions

The Sporting News: Arsenal 2, Bayern Munich 1

Kyle Bonn writes, "The Gunners have one of the most organised defensive units in Europe, conceding just three goals in their last nine Premier League games, and Arsenal are happy to grind out games when necessary. Right now, Arsenal are simply the better team, and they're worth backing not only in this match but across the two-legged tie as well."

The Action Network: Take the Gunners to win

Brad Cunningham writes, "There have only been two matches where Bayern were held under 50% possession this year, the first meeting with Galatasaray where they gave up close to three expected goals and a win over Stuttgart when they were already up 3-0 around the hour mark. So, if Bayern Munich are not able to have control of this match and have to defend for 60% or more of the match, that is going to be a major advantage for the Gunners."

Pickswise: Arsenal to win, both teams to score

Joe Casey writes, "While Arsenal may prove too strong for Bayern, they may struggle to contain their visitors completely... The Gunners have seen both teams score in 3 of their last 5 at home, so it could pay to back Bayern to net, albeit in defeat, in north London on Tuesday."

The Evening Standard: Arsenal 2, Bayern Munich 0

Alex Young writes, "Arsenal put in a hugely confident performance to beat Brighton, while Bayern head to London having lost back-to-back league games to effectively end their title hopes. All signs point to a home win and the Gunners picking up a crucial first-leg advantage. Bayern will need to be at their best or could be out of the tie before the second leg."
