Week 6 predictions and outlooks for Fall River area teams

FALL RIVER — Three of the five Fall River area football teams are back in action in Week 6.

Diman is coming off its third win in the last four games while Somerset Berkley racked up the points in a wild victory against Apponequet.

Durfee will take to the road on Friday the 13th in search of its second win of the season against Dartmouth. Atlantis Charter/Westport and Case each has byes this week.

Here’s an outlook of Week 6 games featuring Herald News teams along with predictions:

Diman at Blue Hills

When: Thursday, 4 p.m.

This year’s records: Diman, 3-2; Blue Hills, 3-2

Outlook: The Bengals are coming off a disciplined game in a victory over Bristol-Plymouth. Now Diman takes to the road to take on another Mayflower League opponent in Blue Hills on Thursday afternoon. TJ Cusick had a monster game for the Bengals, scoring three touchdowns — including one on the defensive side. Quarterback Sam Perry threw for a pair of touchdowns, including a 73-yard pass to Logan McKenzie. The Warriors are coming off a hard fought win against Southeastern. Blue Hills is 1-1 at home this season.

Steven’s Line: Diman 24, Blue Hills 20

Durfee at Dartmouth

When: Durfee at Dartmouth, 7 p.m.

This year’s records: Durfee, 1-4; Dartmouth, 5-0

Outlook: The Hilltoppers dropped their opening Southeast Conference game against Bridgewater-Raynham in Week 5. This week doesn't get any easier for Durfee as they travel on the road to face unbeaten Dartmouth. The Hilltoppers have been shutout in three of the first five games, including last week against the Trojans. Durfee looks to get untrack and score points on offense as they did against Nauset. The Hilltoppers need a perfect game on both sides of the ball. Meanwhile Dartmouth has outscored its opponent to the tune of 184-47. Jackson Hart is a dual threat on offense. He has run for six touchdowns and thrown for six more. Ray Gramlich has a team-high seven touchdowns on the season.

Steven’s Line: Dartmouth 28, Durfee 7

Somerset Berkley at Greater New Bedford

When: Friday, 6:30 p.m.

This year’s records: Somerset Berkley, 4-1; Greater New Bedford, 2-3

Outlook: The Raiders scored points in lightning fashion — 56 to be exact and the most since the 2010 season against Apponequet. With two South Coast Conference wins under their belts, SBR travels on the road to take on Greater New Bedford, who scored 49 points themselves in Week 5. Quarterback Derek Baliko had a great game under center, throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for another. Ethan Santos and Sam Grew combined for five touchdowns. Harrison Cabral leads the way for the Bears with a team-high four touchdowns. Quarterback Nick Boucher had three touchdowns and splits time with Jhaden Reis, who has two rushing scores and two TD passes.

Steven’s Line: Somerset Berkley 35, Greater New Bedford 14
